Oklahoma State University student Matt Fletcher waits for the 6 p.m. kickoff against Rice on Saturday.
Saturday I covered a single subject for eight straight hours.
This was the beginning to what will be my first photo/audio slideshow. I can’t say multimedia project because I’ve done plenty of video.
Nothing like this has been done at the O’Colly despite clear evidence that journalism is shifting heavily toward the Web. I plan to do many more projects like this in the future and hopefully some of them will be newsy.
I carried a recorder and microphone the entire time in addition to two camera bodies, three lenses and a backpack full of miscellaneous photo-related gear. Did I mention this spanned eight hours?
The subject – if you can’t tell – is OSU super-fan Matt Fletcher. Also along for the ride was his wonderful fiancĂ©e, Holly Miller.
By the end of the day, I had taken more photos of them than I did of the entire OSU vs. Georgia game. That’s a LOT of photos.
The bad thing is that I’ll have to cut down to about 24-36 for the slideshow.
I will be conducting interviews with the pair sometime Tuesday and hopefully have the project completed by this Friday.
This wont be the last post on here about Matt, so check back for more about him the project later.
