Today was crazy.

I started at 10 a.m. sharp. No earlier because after working nine hours this weekend, I have to be careful to not go over 40 hours for the week. Well, not too far over, at least.

After shooting a bunch of cute kiddos and the reigning Miss Edmond Liberty Fest, Emoly West, I downloaded my images and without time to look at them, headed to my next assignment.

I arrived just before 1 p.m. to photograph the erecting of a new bronze statue in downtown Edmond. The statue is to honor World War II veterans. It was made from a clay sculpture done by Mary Lou Gresham. She has done many of the statues that decorate downtown Edmond. That turned out to be a lot of fun because I talked to Mary Lou for a while, as well as Kurt Munson, who helped fund the project, and his son, Ryan, who modeled for the sculpture.

Again, I returned to the newsroom with only enough time to upload my images and format my card. I was out the door again and on the way to Edmond Fire Station No. 5. This was my second trip there, but this time I got to explore their training facilities.

They were first class may I say. I even got to see demonstrations of their burn buildings, where they set entire rooms on fire. Fire billowed accross the ceiling even. It was neat.

This time when I returned, I did have time to edit all the pictures. And they needed extra wild art to fill pages. Normally, that is music to my vain, little ears. Today, I was worn out and my eyes were sore.

Sensory overload.

I was scheduled to shoot a baseball game at 6 and at 8. Doubleheader. I’ll post tomorrow how that turned out and the other fun stuff that came my way.

Goodnight.

  4. Thanks! After some thought and advice from Patrick, I decided not to stray from my single image format. You can still see the other ones here though haha.

  5. Did you ever see the new Spped Racer movie with Susan Sarandon? There’s a part whee she pulls Speed aside and tells him that sometimes, seeing the things he does takes her breath away. I think she was secretly thinking about you.

  6. Your pictures amaze me. But then you are amazing.

  7. Hahaha. Megan Foster, you crack me up!
Thank you Marcia. It must have come from being around my favorite aunt ;)

  8. I hope your other aunts don’t follow you here! ;o)
