Steel man, Jason Kendall of All Steel, works on what will be UCO’s Center for Transformative Learning.
I don’t know what transformative learning is, but I’m sure it will be great. UCO is doing a lot of construction, which I’m used to. OSU might as well be called Construction University.
I started my Friday off with nothing on my schedule! How exciting, right? Wouldn’t you know it, by the end of the day I had shot more assignments than any other day.
Fortunately, none of the assignments required a lot of time. I say required because I did spend a good chunk of time at a couple of them. Most of the time was spent in my car, however. I do a lot of driving I’ve noticed. Which is great because they pay my mileage.
My beat-up Nissan gets 35 miles-per-gallon on the highway and probably around 28 in the city. So, at the standard rate of $0.50 per mile, and my car using about $0.09 for each mile at $2.50 a gallon, you can see that I can make a few bucks while I go from assignment to assignment.
Of course, this doesn’t take into consideration all of the wear and tear being done in the process, and my car isn’t exactly built Ford tough to begin with.
At the end of the day I volunteered myself for anything that might be going on this weekend. Of course there was. And of course it started at 7:30 a.m. Whoops.
